 Located 9 km / 6 miles west of the city, Valencia Airport (VLC) is the chief gateway for business travellers to Valencia and for those visiting the Costa del Azahar for holiday purposes. The airport is a relatively small facility, although its passenger figures have been steadily rising over the past five years, recently seeing over 6 million travellers pass through the facility. Valencia: City Hotels and Accommodation
Valencia is a spectacular city and can be reached in around 15 minutes from Valencia Airport (VLC). Many people choose to stay in and around the city centre, where numerous popular hotels reside. Accommodation is particularly plentiful between the Turia River and the train station.

Old Town District / City Centre
Full of history, culture and action, Valencia city centre is characterised by its charming cobblestone streets and old buildings, with many notable hotels being situated in this part of the city. Accommodation can be found in the Barrio del Carmen neighbourhood, near to the Mercado Central and based around the city's acclaimed Plaza de la Reina, which features many impressive examples of architecture. Close to top restaurants, shops and Tapas bars, hotels in the city centre are within easy reach of the spectacular Valencia City of Arts and Science complex.
University District
The bustling University of Valencia comprises four main campuses and a student population exceeding 60,000. With so many people both working at the university and visiting, there is no shortage of hotels close at hand in the university district. Accommodation here lies alongside many modern skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, being within easy reach of lively nightclubs, the Turia Gardens and the Palacio de la Música. Seasonal events and festivals in Valencia's university district can result in hotels becoming fully booked, making advance reservations sensible.
Cánovas District
Famed for its shops and dining venues, hotels in the Cánovas district are well-placed to explore much of the city, being within walking distance of many sights and landmarks. People staying in this neighbourhood tend to visit Valencia's enormous El Corte Inglés department store, which is the perfect place for some serious shopping.
Beaches
Those looking for sea and sand will not be disappointed when they visit Valencia, with a number of sandy stretches located along the shoreline. Many hotels line the beachfront and promenades, particularly around the Playa de Las Arenas.
